Call for abstracts

The Scientific Committee calls for abstract submission on original work for oral and poster presentations.

Deadline for submission (for oral presentations) was 10 October 2018

In case you wish to submit your work AFTER the deadline please contact the ESMI office. Submissions are still possible but can only be considered for POSTER presentation!

Please stick to the follwing Submission Rules:

  • all abstracts must have been submitted online via the online Submission System (deadline for oral presentations was 10 October 2018)
  • you need to create your personal account to enter the Submission System - do not worry: you will be perfectly guided through the process
  • During the submission process you can choose between the presentation types (does not apply for submissions after 10 October):
  1. Oral OR Poster: the final decision will be taken in accordance with the quality/review of your work (applies just for submissions with deadline 10 October)
  2. Poster only: in case you do not wish to present your work as a talk (applies for all submissions after 10 October)
  • Size limit: all in all 2850 characters (incl. space characters); divided into:
  • Introduction: 600
  • Methods: 800
  • Results/Discussion: 1000
  • Conclusion: 450
  • you strictly have to follow that scheme: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Acknowledgement, References
  • you can add a maximum of two figures/pictures (jpeg, png) each with a limited size file of 2MB
  • you will be able to make changes on your submission until the submission deadline (10 October 2018)
  • all abstracts will be acknowledged upon receipt (transmission report). If you do not receive a confirmation email please contact the helpdesk or the ESMI office
  • notifications on acceptance/rejection and type of presentation (poster/talk) of your abstract were sent out by already (submissions with deadline 10 October).

Registration and limited number of places

Please note that the the number of participants is limited to 70.

In general persons who have submitted an abstract will be priorised in regards to the allocation of places.
